Global Voice Networking

Last Updated: 27th February 2010

Do users need to dial different access codes?

In most cases no

Because the Voice Router sits between the PBX and the PSTN trunks and intelligently routes voice calls between the PBX, PSTN and Voice-VPN the users will still dial the same telephone numbers.

When the Voice Router see’s a PSTN call originated to another site on the system then the call is automatically re-routed via the Voice VPN.

If an off-net international call is dialled the Voice Router see’s this and can intelligently re-route the call to an appropriate Voice Router in the destination country.

Of course some users may be barred from making certain types of calls e.g. International calls. Therefore you may wish these users to dial certain access codes from the PBX phones.
