Why shouldn't I just buy an IP-PBX?

An IP-PBX wont provide immediate costs savings and fast return on investment

IP telephony may be appropriate for some companies looking to invest & upgrade the existing telephony platform however upgrading to an IP Telephony platform may not always provide a fast return on time and capital invested.

There is a high capital cost associated with each of all of the following IPT components:

· IP Phones

· VoIP gateway

· Call Servers

· Uplift of applications e.g. Voice Mail, ACDs/IVRs etc

· Migration costs

· Training

 

As an alternative to IPT deployment, using a Voice Router design mean that the existing PBX investment is protected as well as all existing applications.
