How does a Voice VPN save cost?

Assessing the cost savings is one of the key services offered by Global Voice Networking in order to provide a fast return on investment

The public telephone network (PSTN) charges telephone calls by distance, duration and time-of-day. A Voice VPN allows telephone calls between company PBXs to be routed away from the PSTN and routed over a private “leased-line” network or shared “virtual” network.

The cost of a Voice VPN is a fixed cost based on the capacity of the network. This can still be costly if using dedicated trunks which may be fixed at 24 or 30 channels.

However, by exploiting an existing data IP-VPN infrastructure then costs are minimised:

· Voice and Data traffic is converged to share the same infrastructure

· Voice calls are compressed to use less bandwidth

· Capacity is only used when required

As a result the “real cost” of calls over an Voice enable IP-VPN is much lower than using the PSTN or private leased line services.

Global Voice Networking has developed an 8 Step Approach to Corporate Voice Transformation. The key advantage of the 8 step approach is realizing cost savings early in the voice estate transformation programme. Global Voice Networking solution goes on to provide a seamless migration path when IP Telephony becomes inevitable.
